The name Obsidian comes from the naturally occurring volcanic glass formed as rock which I found on a recent holiday with friends. It has all the passion and life force of primordial raw energy and seemed a perfect inspiration for this new collection,” says Elle.

The Obsidian campaign, with its dramatic imagery, was inspired by the hard gloss of fashion advertising you would find in the ‘90s.  The campaign was shot by the immensely talented Regan Cameron in New York earlier this year. Cameron’s work is renowned for its seductive beauty, refined style and glamourous shoot locations. His work appears in British, Italian, French and Japanese Vogue.

The Obsidian campaign exhibits moments of urgent intimacy between two lovers but is ironically captured in a staged setting, highlighting the desire and beauty of the moment.

The luxury fabric sourced from France, Japan and Italy sets this new collection apart. The fabrics include laces, silks, tulles, stunning embroidery and jacquards in the women’s lingerie and cashmere, micro modal, bamboo cotton, sea cell and light weight woven cotton in the men’s.

The men’s Obsidian pieces are understated and classic with cutting-edge design and highly desirable given the luxury fabric.

Each Obsidian piece features a small hint of Tibetan Blue, Elle’s favourite colour. On the men’s it’s via an embroidered logo and on the women’s it’s a small hint on the strap.  This new collection is understated and utterly desirable.

The exciting announcement comes after Davenport’s recent multi-million relaunch of its men’s and women’s underwear range and is just in time ahead of the expected increase in exposure for Eamon and Stephanie as they compete on the global stage in August.
