Bra Accessories & Solutions FAQs

BRA ACCESSORIES AND SOLUTIONS

How to wear silicone bra inserts?

Silicone bra inserts are soft pads that you can add to your everyday bra to add extra lift, definition and shape. They will add volume, or increase your cleavage depending on how you wear them.

Ensure that your breasts are clean and dry. Insert the silicon bra inserts between your bra and your breast.

If you want to lift your breasts higher, place the inserts underneath your bust. If you would like to create more cleavage, place the inserts on the outside of your bust to push your breasts together. You can also select varied sizes and shapes of silicone inserts depending on your desired size and shape.

How to use bra wash bag?

Bra wash bags are used to protect your bras in the washing machine. Bras are delicately made with many structural details and stretch elastics that can easily be degraded in a regular wash cycle. You should use your bra wash bag when you are washing bras in the machine, rather than with a handwash. To use your bra wash bag correctly ensure that you:

  • Hook the back enclosure on your bras closed, so that they can not snag in the wash.
  • Place your bras in the wash bag and zip it shut.
  • Use the gentle or delicate cycle
  • Use a delicate detergent
  • Always air dry your bras

How often should you wash your bra?

You should wash your bra after 2 – 3 wears. Washing your bra regularly removes oils, sweat, dirt and bacteria.

The exact frequency will depend on your lifestyle, and what the bra is worn for. For example, a lacy bra worn for a night out will not need to be washed as frequently as a sports bra. If it has been a humid day, and you have sweated a lot, you may like to wash your bra sooner.

A common misconception is that bras need to be washed after every wear. This can actually cause more harm than good, as the detergent can damage the elasticity.

GENERAL BRA FAQS

Is it bad to sleep without a bra?

No. It is completely ok to sleep without a bra. Sleeping without a bra will not make your breasts saggy. Sleeping with or without a bra is a personal choice, that can be purely based on comfort.

Sleeping without a bra can be more comfortable for many women, as there is no compression or straps digging in. However, some women may choose to sleep with a bra on as they prefer their breasts held in place. This is normally more comfortable for women with a larger bust. If wearing a bra to bed, wear a soft cup bra, in a light natural fabric that is breathable.

Is it necessary to wear a bra?

Wearing a bra is recommended. Breasts contain delicate connective tissue meaning they can be easily damaged by gravity and movement over time. Bras were invented to prevent this damage and give women comfort.

Wearing a bra has many benefits:

  • Preventing sagging
  • Hiding nipples
  • Preventing painful bounce
  • Taking breast weight off the shoulders and reducing back pain
  • Preventing sweat under the bust
  • Creating beautiful lift and shape.

Which bra is suitable for saggy breasts?

If you have a large bust, and your breasts are sagging a full-cup bra will give you complete coverage. T-shirt bras are also recommended as they are not visible under your clothing and give your breasts a smooth finish and natural lift. Bras with side support, narrow set shoulder straps and strong fabric will also provide extra support. Underwire bras will also help to create shape, greater lift and support.

Sagging can also be caused by a fast loss in breast volume. For example, from breast feeding or rapid weight loss. In this case, contour or push up bras can be worn to create desired shape, size and lift.

Why does my bra strap fall off my shoulder?

Bra straps will fall off your shoulders when the bra is not fitting correctly. There are a number of fit issues you could address:

  • The straps are too big. Ensure to adjust them to be tight enough.
  • Your cup size is too big: If your breast volume does not fill out the cups your straps can fall.
  • The bra under band is too large: This will cause the straps to be set too far apart.
  • The straps set too wide apart for your shoulder width. For example, the straps on a wide set balconnet bra may fall off women with narrow shoulders.
  • Your bra band is sitting too high: The bra band can rise when your bra is old and sagging. It should sit underneath your shoulder blades.
